
For as long as I can remember, seminal has infected our waters, polluting the stream of good, clean music journalism (I know, I’m no master of the metaphor, but you get the idea). Used properly, seminal describes an influential artist, usually the originator or heaviest hitter in a genre who provides the basis for all future creation in that style.
